2013 WITH OUR COMMUNITY
June – Drive One 4UR Community Event with the Boys & Girls Club
We were excited to work with the Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops coming on board as a Pit Stop Sponsor for their 1st annual Race for Kids. Teams registered for the Race and raised funds leading up to the race day which took place Saturday, June 1. Kamloops Ford Lincoln was all set up and ready for teams to come through for their on-site challenge at the dealership. They had to Sync a phone to the all-new 2013 Ford Escape. Once completed Teams collected clues and move onto their next location on the north shore. The money raised through sponsorship and fund-raising helped fund the Race and their Power Start Program. This program is fantastic, they work in partnership with a local Elementary School selecting children who may be experiencing challenges in getting to school on time and are chosen by school staff. The program offers transportation to school for children from their home starting at 7:30 am. Once at school children participate in the Breakfast Program, and then join Club program staff in movement, relaxation, grooming and preparation for the school day.
May – Drive One 4UR School Event at Norkam High School
Saturday, May 4 we displayed Ford and Lincoln products to put on display at Norkam’s parking lot. It was a beautiful and hot day for people to come out and support their grads. They also hosted a BBQ and Car Wash while people waited for their Test Drive. Norkam raised a grand total of $1,080.
April – Drive One 4UR School Event at Westsyde High School
On Saturday, April 27 we packed up and drove over a range of Ford vehicles and lined them all up at the Westsyde High School parking lot. Parents, friends, students of the 2013 graduating class had a great day greeting people who came to support their Dry Grad with a test drive in a Ford of their choice! Westsyde raised a grand total of $1,440.
2012 WITH OUR COMMUNITY
Steve Davidson, right, presents hospice association chairman Gordon Davis and executive director Wendy Marlow a cheque for $16,260
May – Kamloops Hospice Association
Davidson said he and his staff wanted to do something for the community in celebration of the opening of their 30,000-square-foot dealership and service centre on Halston Avenue, and decided a charity fundraiser was a great way.
The Majorie Willough by Snowden Memorial Hospice was chosen as recipient because of Davidson’s experiences with it, as well as the fact it does not have the same kind of fundraising engines behind it as some other charities do. Kamloops Ford Lincoln donated a Ford Fiesta for a ticket raffle. Victor Martin was the proud winner.
2010 TO PRESENT WITH OUR COMMUNITY
